In Summer, heated air beneath the metal roof panels is cycled to the ridge vent between 60-80 times an hour. The heated air escaping from the ridge vent creates negative stack pressure at the ridge which draws cool fresh air in to your attic via the soffit's. This ensures that the temperature of your attic is always the same as the ambient outdoor temperature.
In Winter, a concealed ridge vent system creates way less air turbulence in your attic than a traditional stack vent like the Maxi Vent. Because our concealed ridge vent system is integrated in the roof itself, this helps eliminate excessive air turbulence in the attic during Winter. Too much air turbulence disturbs your insulation's heat flux layer and results in wind washing of the insulation layer resulting in unnecessary heat loss and higher energy usage.
