    Roof Installation on Strapping:
    "The European Way"

The Double Strapped ECO ROOF with 'Above Sheathing Ventilation' (ASV) is up to 50% more energy efficient than deck-mounted roofing.

    Metal Roof Installation on Strapping

    Built for Performance

Our installation method creates a thermal break between the metal and your home's interior.

    Our Method

    1. Double Strapped (ASV)

Metal roof systems mechanically attached over wooden strapping systems optimize attic ventilation by means of DUAL RIDGE VENTILATION.

Heated air beneath the metal roof panels is vented out of the roof via a dual ridge ventilation system which draws fresh cool air into your roof attic in Summer. All our ECO ROOFS are mounted on battens and feature this energy-saving DUAL RIDGE VENTILATION.

    2. Deck Mounted Installation

Traditional asphalt shingles and sheathing mounted metal roofing systems transfer heat energy from the sun directly in to your attic.

This drives up your Summer cooling costs. They typically require protruding external stack vents (like Maxi or Whirlybird vents) designed to maximize attic air turbulence, disturbing the heat flux layer and driving up energy costs.

    Energy Facts to Consider

Almost 60% of energy gained and lost from a home's building envelope takes place through its roof.

Up to 45% of all residential energy costs are spent on Summer cooling.

With ECO ROOF you get a 45% reduction in heat transfer into your attic in Summer.

Average Ontario home air conditioning energy cost is $650 - $800 /yr.

Average energy savings with ECO METAL ROOFS: Save $250 - $400 /yr on Summer cooling plus $150 - $250 /yr on Winter heating.

Over 15 years, homeowners can save $6,000 or more in annual energy costs.

    The Installation Process

See how an Eco Roof is methodically installed over our signature double-strapped grid system.

    Step 1: Vertical Strapping
    1

    Vertical Strapping

1x2 untreated Canadian Spruce vertical strapping is applied over the breathable underlayment.

    Step 2: Horizontal Strapping
    2

    Horizontal Strapping

1x3 horizontal strapping is installed creating the structural grid and the critical ASV air gap.

    Step 3: Starter Panels
    3

    Starter Panels

The first continuous form metal panels are precisely measured, cut, and aligned from eave to ridge.

    Step 4: Continuous Installation

    Continuous Installation

Panels are secured with specially designed rubber-washer screws driven into the strapping, not the deck.

Step 5: Ridge and Valley Details
